Chroma (Greek) Colour: an attribute of things that results from the light they reflect or emit in so far as this causes a visual sensation.
Zone: a region, area or section characterised by some distinctive feature or quality.
ChromaZone: an area where individual artists work together to form a unified whole. Creating the building blocks of an area of enterprise, creativity and opportunity. And strengthening ties within the community.
The artists in this group originated and trained in many parts of the country but for their own reasons have chosen to settle in this area. They are all highly individual artists - with their own visions, ideals and philosophies. They create works that are as unique in their approach, perspective and style as the artists themselves.
What unites them is a sense of purpose, a high regard for artistic integrity, professionalism and sheer hard work. Together these artists bring a wealth of cultural diversity to the area. They create a body of work that is both challenging and thought provoking.
